Family Health Care
Family Health Care
We incorporate genetics and a blend of functional and traditional methods into our practice to individualize our care and management of patients for the treatment and prevention of disease. We also provide care to those who are ill and need same-day appointments and manage chronic disease.
Although our care is primarily focused on persons 13 and older, we have a family nurse practitioner in our Big Island office one day per week for children from birth to age 12 for school physicals, wellness, and sick visits.

We offer specialty laboratory services including microbiome testing with GI map, pharmacogenomic testing for medication management, cardiovascular risk assessment with Boston Heart as well as routine and specialty laboratory services through our local health system.
Mental Health

We have a licensed professional counselor on staff to meet the needs of those who need support for a variety of mental health issues.
We assess and treat patients for depression, anxiety and other common diagnoses. We also have referral sources within the community for those in need of additional services such as inpatient admission and addiction treatment.

We are a part of a network of over 50 Advanced Practice Providers across the country called American APN. We use an electronic medical record system called CareSpan and patients have access to their health information through a patient portal.
We send email reminders to patients of upcoming appintments through the CareSpan system.
American APN contracts with a billing service to provide filing of insurance claims, statements and collection services.
We are credentialed with Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial insurance companies such as Anthem, Cigna and Piedmont Community Health Plan. You may inquire at the time of scheduling of your appointment about our participation with your health plan. We also offer financial assistance plans to the uninsured.
We maintain privileges with local hospitals and refer to specialists locally and at university health systems when necessary.

We offer pregnancy testing, cancer screening services and referrals for additional OB-GYN services as needed.
